Hydraulic Seed Data

A hydraulic design project requires a certain amount of prerequisite data for rainfall definition, storm events and various other information. The repository of this information is a hydraulic seed file and normally stored as a dgn library. This hydraulic seed information can be stored in the same libraries as your utility feature definitions or in a separate library.

The most common items you will want to store in a hydraulic seed are:

  • Project defaults
  • Default design constraints
  • Prototypes for inlets, manholes, catchments, and conduits
  • Storm data
  • Storm events
  • Catalogs for inlets and conduits

You may also want to store the following for commonly used settings:

  • Scenarios
  • Alternatives
  • Calculation options
  • Element symbology
  • User data extensions
  • Queries
  • Flex tables
  • Tooltip customizations

The hydraulic seed project is a full-fledged hydraulic project so it can contain as much or as little detail for starting up new design files as you need.

You can define the desired hydraulic seed in you workspace with the following configuration variables.

SUDA_SEED_MODEL
